Political leaders urged to make cautious comments on international affairs
The National President of Christian Friends of Democracy, Reverend Samuel Adjei, has cautioned political leaders in Ghana to be careful of their comments on the relationship between Ghana and its neighbours, especially Cote D’ Ivoire.
He said there were large numbers of Ghanaians staying in Cote D’Ivoire and any comments that could suggest that Ghana was involved in any act to destabilize that country would put the lives of Ghanaian citizens in danger.
Rev. Adjei gave the warning in reaction to comments made by some political leaders during the last Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Presidential debate in Accra.
Rev. Adjei had been involved in providing shelter and seeking help for Ghanaians in dangerous situations in the past in Cote D’Ivoire.
He advised the political leaders to be mindful of their positions in society and the implications of their comments on international affairs.
