Drivers urged to be vigilant during elections, Christmas

The Nkoranza South Municipal Secretariat of Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA) has urged drivers to be vigilant on the roads during Election 2012 and the Christmas festivities.

In addition, motorbike and bicycle riders as well as pedestrians should keep to their lanes to avoid road crashes.

Mr Joseph Kwabena Nyamaah, Vice Chairman of the branch made the call at a meeting at Nkoranza.

He said the political campaigns and preparations towards the December 7 polls had made the roads busy coupled with the coming yuletide.

Mr Nyamaah expressed concern about the attitude of drivers who overload their vehicles and over speed and advised them to be cautious while the youth on board heavy duty vehicles should avoid sitting on the edges.

He commended the police for their vigilance on the roads that had reduced armed robbery.

Mr Nyamaah called on all stakeholders in Election 2012 to ensure that peace prevailed before, during and after December 7.
