Ghana Premier League: Chelsea, Faisal match abandoned after downpour

The 2012/2013 Premier League Week 10 clash involving King Faisal and visiting Berekum Chelsea came to an abrupt end at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday due to a downpour.

Referee Frederick Bediako had no option than to bring proceedings to an end in the 53rd minute as ball control became very difficult due to the flooded pitch.

The score-line was 1-1, with Bismark Idan scoring for the visitors in the 45th minute, while substitute Prince Boateng equalized for Faisal in the 48th minute.

The referee after consultation with the two captains, technical team and Match Commissioner called off the game barely eight minutes into the second half.

The match will be replayed on Monday, December 3 at the same venue.
