Conduct of special voting smooth in Ejisu-Juaben Municipality
Special voting by security personnel and staff of the Electoral Commission (EC), who would be on duty on December 7, has been smooth in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality.
The verification equipment deployed at the two designated polling centres – Juaben Circuit Court and Ejisu Municipal Assembly, had functioned without glitches.
As of 1024 hours, when the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited the Ejisu Centre, 204 out of the 334 special voters expected to cast their ballot there, had already voted.
At Juaben, 22 out of the total of 92 had exercised their franchise, an hour into the exercise under the close watch of polling agents of the two main political parties, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Osei Agyemang, Presiding Officer at the Juaben Centre, praised the party agents for their comportment.
Some of the special voters who spoke to the GNA also expressed satisfaction with the maiden biometric voting system.
