Lands Commission releases land for light industries at Effutu

The Lands Commission has released about 50 acres of land to Effutu Municipal Assembly for the construction of light industrial park to relocate artisans/mechanics at Winneba Junction to a central location.

The gesture would help construct a new slaughter house/abattoir.

Mr John Kofi Kussachin, Effutu Municipal Coordinating Director, said this at a day’s project start-up meeting at Winneba.

He said the relocation was as a result of the expansion of the Winneba/Cape Coast road and the construction of a market complex at the Winneba Junction that would affect them.

Mr Kussachin said the project is under the Urban Development Grant Fund and would construct a bio-digestor for liquid waste treatment as a way of providing appropriate scientific method of discharging and treating liquid waste in the municipality at Winneba Samkro.

Mr Jacob Haward, Project Engineer, took the participants through the drawings of the slaughter house/abattoir which would include office for veterinary and environmental staff, public waiting place and cool room.
