Effutu Assembly approves its 2013 rates and fees
The Effutu Municipal Assembly at emergency meeting approved their rates and fees, composite budget and annual action plan/investment activities for the year ending 31st December 2013.
Among the items to be carried out were completion of 12-seater W/C toilet facility each at Donkonyim and Sonkor, completion of Ghana @50 toilet with other facilities at Winneba Junction.
Others are procurement of 10 containers, 150 waste collection bins, rehabilitation of access roads, completion of the phase II of a three-storey office complex maintenance of Information Communication Technology networking (ICT) facility.
Under their annual action plan, the Assembly would tackle sanitation, transport, economic, administration, governance, social, health, education, agriculture, communication development, works, disaster, trade and industry as well as physical planning.
The rates and the fees would cover private and corporate commercial, financial houses, telecommunication projects, utility service providers, market, wholesale/foodstuff, conveyance, traditional banks, vehicle identifications, marriage and divorce.
Very Reverend Eldad Bonney, Presiding Member of the Assembly, appealed to members to work harder, to ensure that their objectives are achieved to move the assembly forward.
He commended the technocrats of the Assembly and the assembly members as well for their contributions that led to the Municipality to quantify for the functional assessment twice during the tenure of the current assembly and urged them not to be proud of the achievement but should do all that they could to maintain the standard.
Nii Ephraim, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, congratulated all who contributed in diverse ways that had brought the Municipality that far and hoped they would continue with their patriotic spirit that together to move the municipality forward.
He urged the assembly members to sensitize their people on the need to honour their tax obligation to improve the Assembly’s internally generated fund.
He also appealed to the house to help educate the electorate especially the youth to refrain from all acts that could disrupt the peace of the area.
