Ghana is winner – Mahama
President-elect John Dramani Mahama has dedicated his December 7 election victory to the people of Ghana.
According to the President, his victory is not a partisan one and thus Ghana is the winner anytime the country engages in the democratic process.
“This victory is not partisan…Everytime we engage in democratic process, Ghana is the winner,” President Mahama told a crowd that gathered at his “Thank You” rally held in Accra today December 10, 2012.
President Mahama was declared winner of the country’s 2012 presidential polls after beating his closest opponent Nana Akufo-Addo.
“This celebration is the moment of achievement for all the people of Ghana,” Mahama told the excited crowd adding that, “We’ve shown the world that we have the will, the determination and the commitment to succeed no matter the obstacles.”
The President reminded Ghanaians that “we are one people and united…it doesn’t matter whom you voted for.”
He also reiterated his commitment to the growth of Ghana’s democracy.
Some musicians were present and performed on stage. They were Dr Slim, Double Double, Dadie Opanka and Gifty Osei.
