CAF partners Nissan for AFCON 2013
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has sealed a partnership agreement with automobile giants, Nissan Motors Company for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The agreement, which confers the Japan headquartered firm, the title “Official Automotive Partner” for the flagship continental football event runs till the 2015 edition to be staged in Morocco.
A CAF statement copied to GNA Sports said Nissan will benefit of a large exposure and associated rights and opportunities during and in connection with such events, in view of supporting its growth in Africa and especially in South Africa and Morocco.
“CAF and the African football are delighted to welcome Nissan among the major partners of the Orange Africa Cups of Nations 2013 and 2015,” said CAF President, Issa Hayatou.
Dr Andy Palmer, Executive Vice President of Nissan Motors Company, on his part said his outfit is particularly proud to be associated with the fourth-largest sporting event in the world and the key values of the African football.
Nissan joins the likes of Samsung, Pepsi and Standard Bank as sponsors for the event scheduled for 19 January to 10 February in South Africa.
