Ghanaian ICT professionals to hold second General Meeting
The Information Technology Association of Ghana (ITAG) will hold its second General Meeting on December 20, 2012, to network and discuss issues pertinent to the advancement of ICT and its initiatives in the country.
The theme for the meeting, which will also formally launch the Ghana Open Data Portal, is “Open Data for National Development”.
The association, which aims to become the voice of Computer Science, Information Technology (IT) and Engineering Science professionals in Ghana is inviting all IT professionals, practitioners and students in the country to the meeting.
The purpose of ITAG is to disseminate knowledge on the theory and practice of all aspects of information technology, telecommunication engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, computer science, radio communications, education, allied sections of engineering and related arts and sciences.
The objects of the association is to add value to Ghana’s economy by encouraging business growth and competitiveness through the use of information technology, to advance the theory and practice of information technology and to promote the free interchange of information about the theory and practice of information technology in Ghana and elsewhere.
It is also to determine, develop and promote the integrity and competence of individuals active in IT in Ghana, raise public awareness on the potential impact of information systems, protect the public and individuals against the misuse of information systems and to create opportunities for Ghanaians to enjoy the benefits offered by advances in information technologies.
