Ghanaian journalists asked to fight stress

media2Mr Emmanuel Asempa, a health education volunteer, on Friday asked journalist to reinvigorate their bodies to avoid stress-related illnesses.

He said journalists should visit health facilities regularly for medical check up since their job is ‘backbreaking.’

Mr Asempa was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at a media soirée in Ho, at which the participants were tested for blood pressure and diabetes.

The programme was organised by the Volta Regional Chapter of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) with support from Mr Emmanuel Bedzra, Member of Parliament (MP), Ho-West, Mr Joe Gidisu, Minister of Roads, Mr Benjamin Kpodo, MP-elect for Ho-Central, and Mr Henry Ametefe, Deputy Volta Regional Minister.

Mr Anthony Bells Kafui Kanyi, GJA Volta Regional Secretary, gave a brief report on the group for 2012, and congratulated his colleagues for working assiduously.

Mr Victor Kwawukume, GJA Volta Regional Chairman, paid tribute to the late Henry Ford Kamel, Volta Regional Minister, who died on Tuesday, Christmas Day, saying the late Kamel had good relationship with the media, and contributed to the development of the region.
