Ghana Premier League: Aduana off log apex
A first half winner from Ebenazer Ofori, gifted Edubiase United all three points, a win that pushed leaders, Aduana Stars off the apex of the table in a week-14 Glo Premiership meeting at the Gyamfi Park, Bekwi.
The only goal which pushed the visitors to second place arrived in the 39th minutes when Ofori, converted from the spot after an advancing Edubiase player was brought flying in the penalty area.
The host managed to hold on well after the goal despite occasional threats from Aduana, who went into the game hoping to wrap up victory that could have solidified their resolve of ending the first round on top of the table.
Despite returning from recess with a man less, Aduana completely came on top but lacked the cutting edge to trouble the hosts’ defence.
Just when Aduana appeared to be inching close to getting a point, referee Solomon Mordey dished another red card to Emmanuel Akuoku for dissent to effectively end club’s quest.
