President Mahama meets Jacob Zuma on private SA visit
Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama met and held talks with his South African counterpart, Jacob Zuma on December 30, 2012, officials have said.
The meeting took place at Jacob Zuma’s residence in Nkandla, KwaZulu Natal during President Mahama and wife’s private visit to South Africa, according to a statement issued by Zuma’s office.
Details of the meeting is not yet known but Zuma’s office said “The two leaders held talks ahead of the attendance by President-elect Mahama of the annual Jacob Zuma RDP Education Trust Christmas party for orphans and the youth.”
Meanwhile, President Zuma has confirmed that he will attend the inauguration of President Mahama to be held January 7, 2013 at the Independence Square in Accra.
President Mahama won the country’s 2012 presidential polls.
President Mahama has since arrived in Accra from South Africa and is scheduled to give Ghanaians a New Year message tonight December 31, 2012.
