Music show crowns President Mahama’s inauguration

MahamaThe inauguration of Ghana’s Fourth President under the Fourth Republic, Mr John Dramani Mahama was crowned with a musical concert accompanied with fireworks at the Ghana International Trade Fair in Accra on Monday.

The fireworks performed by the 48 Engineer Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces was admired by supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who were gathered at the fore courts of the Trade Fair centre.

The enthusiastic supporters clad in T-shirts of NDC party colours – red, green and white with President Mahama’s portrait created huge vehicular traffic.

The supporters holding party paraphernalia chanted “Mahama Ede be keke” in excitement and danced to popular NDC campaign songs as well as songs from the performing artists.

Mr Abeku Aggrey Santana, Coordinator of the Event told the Ghana News Agency that the concert was to congratulate Ghanaians for a peaceful election 2012.

The event was also to congratulate President Mahama for winning the just ended December 7 elections.

He said the event which started around 2000 hours was held simultaneously in Sunyani and Tamale.

Mr Aggrey, who is also a member of a pro-Mahama group called on Ghanaians to rally round the new President to bring growth and development to the Nation.

Performing music artistes at the event included Cecelia Marfo, Ohemaa Mercy, Gifty Osei, R2Bees, Kwaw Kese, Samini, AB Crentsil, Amakye Dede, Jewel Ackah, Amandzeba and VIP.

The slogan for the carnival is “Ego bee k3k3.”
