LEKMA completes 33 of 53 projects initiated in 2012
The Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) in Greater Accra Region, has completed most of its development projects for 2012 through internally generated fund (IGF).
Mr Daniel Amartey Mensah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), made this known to journalists during an overview of the Assembly’s development programmes over the last three years.
He said out of 53 projects initiated last year, LEKMA was able to complete 33 of them with Heavily Indebted Poor Country Fund, Ghana Education Trust Fund and the Road Fund apart from the IGF.
The projects included the construction and renovation of footbridges, supply of furniture to basic and senior high schools, construction of classroom blocks and dormitories for first and second-cycle schools, rehabilitation and installation of streets and security lights and the construction of KVIP places of convenience.
Flanked by Nii Amarh Ashietey, Municipal Coordinating Director, and Ms Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Presiding Member, the MCE said in 2010 and 2011 the Assembly completed 47 out of the 53 projects it initiated.
Mr Mensah commended the staff of the Assembly for their hard work, dedication to duty and cooperation and urged them to do more this year to ensure the early completion of all ongoing projects.
