Ghana President appoints woman to head Investment Centre
Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama on January 20, 2013 named Ms Mawuena Dumor Trebah, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC).
She replaces Mr George Aboagye who resigned late last year.
Ms Trebah, was a former head of Corporate Services at MTN Ghana.
The GIPC is a government agency that seeks to encourage, promote and facilitate investments in the country.
According to its website, the GIPC is the “one-stop agency that facilitates and supports local and foreign investors in both the manufacturing and services sectors as they seek more value-creating operations, higher sustainable returns and new business opportunities.”
Meanwhile, President Mahama has nominated former Communications Minister, Mr Haruna Iddrisu to head the Trade and Industry Ministry while Mr. P.V. Obeng was appointed Senior Adviser to the President.
The following is the third set of appointment list of President Mahama released and signed by his Executive Secretary Dr Raymond A. Atuguba.
Ministers of State designate:

The following persons have also been designated by the President to Coordinate the implementation of presidential priority projects relating to: the construction of 200 Senior High Schools, 10 Teacher Training Colleges and 1 Public University in the Eastern Region; the Development of ultra modern Regional and Specialist Hospitals; and the development of new International and Regional Airports:

Finally, the President has appointed Ms. Mawuena Dumor Trebah as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
