Ghana’s Kyerematen faces WTO as top job selection processes begin
Ghana’s nominee for the Director-General post of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Mr Alan Kyerematen, will face the Geneva-based organisation January 29, 2013.
Mr Kyerematen will present himself to the WTO members and later speak to the international press on why he wants to succeed current Director-General Pascal Lamy.
These forms part of the WTO Director-General selection process.
The other eight candidates gunning for the top post will also present themselves to the organisation. The candidates’ presentation process ends January 31, 2013.
Mr Kyerematen, a former Trade Minister, was the first among the nine to be nominated by Ghana.
Pascal Lamy’s term of office expires August 31, 2013.
