BSG distributes 1,000 Greek, Hebrew Bibles to institutions
The Bible Society of Ghana (BSG) on Wednesday presented 1,000 Greek and Hebrew Bibles to various educational institutions in the country to advance the work of God.
Some of the institutions included Cape Coast University, University of Ghana (UG), Legon, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Valley View University, St Peter’s Theological Seminary and Baptist Theological Seminary.
The rest are Trinity Theological Seminary, Ramsey Theological Seminary Assemblies of God Seminary and Maranatha Bible College.
Reverend Erasmus Odonkor, General Secretary of BSG said even though one of the Society’s aim was to translate the Bible throughout the country, it want to go beyond that and ensure that those teaching the Bible do it well.
He said the Bible was translated from Greek and Hebrew languages.
Rev Odonkor explained that the Greek Bibles are the Old Testament while the Hebrew is the New Testament.
Rev Dr Abamfo Ofori Atiemo, Head of Department for the Study of Religions, UG, Legon thanked the society for the presentation and said it would aid teaching and learning in the academic facility.
The BSG is a non-denominational Christian organisation with voluntary membership from individual Christians affiliated to the United Bible Societies which translate, publish and distribute at affordable prices the Holy Scriptures.

Excellent idea
