Trustees of Saviour Church Ghana face court injunction

law-and-justiceMr Peter Kwabena Adjei, Board Member of Saviour Church of Ghana, has filed an interlocutory injunction order at the Accra Fast Track High Court against five registered trustees of  the Church.

The order seeks to restrain Abraham Adusei, Jacob Asirifi, Enoch Ofori, Seth Dwumfour  and Daniel Mensah from performing spiritual and religious activities in the name of the church.

In a statement of claim, the plaintiff is seeking an order for perpetual injunction restraining the defendants and their agents from using the name of the Church for any spiritual and religious activities.

It claimed that “indeed the defendants are not a religious body and cannot function in that capacity”.

The order is also seeking that the plaintiff’s church is the legal entity recognized by the law of Ghana to run churches.

The plaintiff claimed that the defendants have exceeded their legal mandate and have been using the name of the plaintiff to organize church activities contrary to law.

It claimed that by this illegality, the defendants are running churches and even plan a convention in the name of the plaintiff.

According to the statement of the claim, unless restrained by the court, the defendants will use the name of the plaintiff to deceive the whole world and to achieve their own illegal ends.

It claimed that any further order (s) as the Justice of this case, demands cost, including lawyer’s professional fees.
