Agona East Assembly sets up business advisory center for SMEs

market-womanThe Agona East District Assembly in the Central Region has set up a Business Advisory Center to offer training and technical advice for the establishment of small and medium enterprises.

This is to ensure speed growth and facilitate activities of private businesses to create jobs and wealth for the people, particularly the unemployed youth in the area.

Mr Martin Luther Obeng, Agona East District Chief Executive (DCE) announced these when he addressed a parade of school children, traditional rulers, Assembly Members and members of the public to mark the 56th Independence Anniversary celebration at Agona Nsaba.

The DCE said the initiative was to help traditional banks, microfinance companies and others financial institutions improve their businesses and added that the John Dramani Mahama government was committed to supporting the private sector, which is the engine of growth, to help improve the economy.

Mr Oteng said that government has also supplied free school uniforms, exercise books, computers to school children and expanded the school feeding programme, to improve education.

He said the Assembly has started developing tourist attractions in area to generate revenue towards the development of the area.
