Don’t allow political differences to undermine Ghana’s development- DCE
Mr Kwaku Kaakyire Oppong-Kyekyeku, the Afigya Kwabre District Chief Executive (DCE), has appealed to all Ghanaians not to allow political differences to undermine the nation’s progress and development.
He said there is the need for all to accept to act together to avoid partisanship and get involved in the decision making process to help push the nation forward.
Mr Oppong-Kyekyeku was addressing over 2,500 school children as part of activities to mark this year’s 56th independence anniversary celebrations at Kodie in the district.
“Partnership and innovation for a new and better Ghana” was the theme.
The DCE said it is through partnership and innovation that we can bring about the much needed social and economic transformation that we all cherish.
“We need to be proactive and responsive and avoid being pessimistic about our old ways of thinking and doing things”, Mr Oppong-Kyekyeku said.
He said the government as part of a programme to sustain and consolidate the gains made under the “Better Ghana Agenda”, was adopting effective and innovative approaches to deal with the issues that undermine national development.
While commending the staff of the Ghana National Fire Service, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and other disaster prevention and management organizations in the district, the DCE advised that people embark on vigorous measurers to help rid the communities of fires, road crashes and other man-made disasters.
