AGI, Kaizen Institute organise training for service industries
The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and the Kaizen Institute on Friday organised training programme for the service industries in the country aimed at improving the processes in manufacturing, engineering and business management.
Mr Vinod Grover, Founding Director of Kaizen Institute, explained operational excellence as a philosophy of the workplace, which involved problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership results in the ongoing improvement in an organization.
Mr Grover said the processes focus on the customers’ needs, keeping the employees positive and empowered, and continually improving the current activities in the workplace.
He said there was the need for top management of an organization to get into a common page and understanding about operational excellence to build belief and help set a shared goal that needed to be achieved.
Mr Grover added that managements of organizations must organized training workshops for their employees for improvement and sustainability since training helped to acquire knowledge for optimum performance.
He encouraged service industries to be innovative, initiate good plan, develop skills of employees to be able to deliver satisfactory and improve productivity.
Mr Seth Twum-Akwaboah, Executive Director of AGI, said the Kaizen Institute is an internationally recognized business practice that focuses on a continuous improvement of processes in manufacturing, engineering and business management.
Mr Twum-Akwaboah said it was a concept developed by the Japanese and embraced by companies such as Toyota as a work culture for operational excellence, strategic cost, quality and speed related advantages.
The Kaizen Institute is in the country under the invitation of AGI to train companies in the country and make them more competitive to address some of challenges facing the business environment.
