EP Church honours Speaker of Parliament Doe Adjaho, MP
Mr Edward Doe Adjaho, the Speaker of Parliament and Mr Peter Nortsu Kotoe, the Member of Parliament for Akatsi-North, were on Sunday honored by the Agortime-Ave District of Evangelical Presbyterian Church at a special thanksgiving service at Ave-Dzalele in the Akatsi-North District.
The two were said to have promoted development in the Ave-Avenor area to uplift the image of the EP Church of which they are members.
Mr Adjaho was the Member of Parliament for Avenor for five four-year terms since 1992 and retained the seat last year but had to step down when he was made Speaker of Parliament.
Mr Nortsu-Kotoe was the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Akatsi and is now the Member of Parliament for Akatsi-North.
Mr Adjaho and Mr Nortsu-Kotoe were each presented with stools and engraved certificates signed by Rev Sammy Amoako, Ho-East Presbytery Moderator, Rev Mawutor Buamah, District Pastor and Mr Gershon Keti, Catechist .
Rev Amoako, described Mr Nortsu-Kotoe, who once served as Secretary of the Abeka EP Church Session, as a meticulous administrator who would impact greatly on the development of the Akatsi-North District.
He said the achievements of the two politicians should be an inspiration for the youth.
Mr Nortsu-Kotoe called for unity among the constituents to tackle the many development problems in education and infrastructure facing the area.
Mr Adjaho was not present at the ceremony, which was attended by groups from other churches in the area, chiefs, including Togbe Kwame Dogli II, Chief of Ave-Dzalele and community leaders.
