1,500 Chinese canvasses, bags distributed to school children in Upper West

PupilsMadam Alijata Sulemana, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sissala East Constituency in the Upper West region, has distributed more than 1,500 Chinese canvas boots and school bags to selected school children in deprived communities in the area.

The MP said she was supported by Bright Generation Community Foundation, non-governmental organisation, based in Kumasi.

Madam Alijata made this known during the inauguration of a new mosque constructed by Alhaji Abdul-Salam Akate, Chief Executive Officer of Akate Farms and Trading Company Limited for the Muslims in the Bugubelle area.

She commended Alhaji Akate for the gesture, and said government would continue to pursue good programmes and policies to give meaning to the government’s “Better Ghana Agenda”.

Alhaji Akate said: “It has been my passion to use part of what Allah has blessed me with to provide descent place for people to worship our creator”.

He appealed to successful Muslims to let their blessing be of benefit to communities in which they live.

Alhaji Seidu Kodimah, Imam of  Bugubelle, thanked Alhaji Akate for the gesture, and appealed to other Muslims who are blessed by Allah to contribute to Islam.

Alhaji Kodimah requested for the establishment of an Islamic school in the area to train children to acquire knowledge and religious values.
