Citi FM donates to Orphanage in Bolgatanga
Citi FM on Monday donated food items including bags of rice, gari, maize, cooking oil, assorted drinks and other provisions valued at 3,000 Ghana cedis to the “Mama Lady Orphanage” at Bolgatanga.
In addition the Management of the FM station led by the News Editor Richard Mensah donated 3,000 Ghana cedis to the management of the orphanage.
Citi FM for the past seven years had been supporting the “Mama Lady Orphanage” with various forms of assistance to assist in the upkeep of the orphans.
Presenting the donation to the home, the News Editor of Citi FM said that the donation was made possible through the management of the station and its good listeners adding that there were similar donations being made to other orphanages by the staff of the Station.
He said as Christ sacrificed himself for mankind, the Management of the FM Station and its cherished listeners also felt it as a duty to sacrifice by donating to the orphanages.
He said as part of Citi FM’s Social Cooperate Responsibility it would continue to support orphanages in the country and that next year it would expand the existing package.
Mr Jimmy Quist, the Studio Manager of Citi FM, said Citi FM was also currently contributing in cash for the construction of classrooms at the Baptist Skills Training School and Orphanage in the Eastern Region.
He said he was optimistic that if orphans are given proper training it would empower them to become more responsible instead of becoming a burden to the society.
The Director of the Home Ayine Lardy paid a tribute to the Management of Citi FM for their continuous support and said the donations from Citi FM had really contributed a lot to development of children in the centre.
The Children sang Christian songs, expressing their thankfulness to the Management of Citi FM.
