Nana Konadu, Ofosu-Ampofo and others receive international awards

Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, together with former Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo and nine other high profile personalities have been honoured with the “Peristrofi World Honorary International Award”.

They include ex-Foreign Minister, Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, Mr Justice Morkporkpor Yao Amegashie, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr Amarkai Amartefio, Vice-President of World Federation of Consul, and Dr Opata Sarzrar, Founder and Chairman of College of Management Studies.

The rest are Very Reverend Dr Emmanuel Kormla Gbordzoe, former Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, Ghana, the Rev Dr Kojo Osei-Wusuh, President of the Ghana Baptist University College, Mr Kofi Sarpong, Executive Director, Hippo Group of Companies, Mr Jonathan T. Obeng, and Director of Royal Consult.

The “Peristrofi Award” is a renowned international award, reserved for result-oriented and hard working people in the academia, politics, law, journalism, entrepreneurship and the Church’s Ministry.

This year’s presentation ceremony was held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and under the auspices of the Sweden’s Institute for Pentecostal Studies.

Sweden, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands are among nations that had previously hosted the presentation ceremony.

Dr Divine Gabriel Brefo, President and Vice Chancellor of Peristrofi Masters Theology International, described the honorees as distinctive leaders with proven track record, dignity, self-discipline and unquestionable character, who have made immense contribution to the socio-economic development of the country.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo, who was rewarded for the leadership and interventions he introduced to fight poverty during his tenure as minister, said he was humbled by the recognition.
