Cabinet approves guidelines for new market premium
The Cabinet of the Ghana government has approved guidelines for a new market premium for public sector workers.
It took the decision April 2, 2013 and said the guidelines are to determine the market premium for its “employees with critical skills that should attract a premium”.
In a statement signed by Information Minister, Mahama Ayariga, the Cabinet said it will soon publish a white paper on the guidelines.
But for the interim, the statement said “the old premiums will continue”.
These will however come to an end following the determination of which skills fall within the category of critical skills and the amount of the premium to be paid, it added.
