Government commends UTAG for calling off strike
Government on Wednesday commended the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) on the decision to return to the lecture hall.
In a statement signed by Mr Mahama Ayariga, Minister of Information and Media Relations and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), hailed the teachers decision to return to the lecture hall as a noble one.
According to the statement, government was resolute in its desire to provide the best working conditions for all Ghanaian workers including members of UTAG.
“We will continue with our engagements with members of UTAG to find lasting solutions to all the issues that have been raised and government remains committed to building an atmosphere of trust with the various worker unions”, it said.
The statement urged “all other unions to return to their work stations to emulate the UTAG.”
