Cape Coast to resurrect community football
The Central Regional Director of the Sports Development Council, Kweku Baidoo Wilson says his outfit will soon establish community football clubs for children between the ages of 6-12 in the region.
The initiative is to train more children at the regional level to acquire the requisite skills and talents which would enable them to easily fit into the Ghana Football Association (GFA) programmes.
The programme, aimed at reviving community and colts football in the region when implemented would only admit school children. “No matter how skilful and talented one is, if the person is not attending school he or she would not be accepted into the club”.
He underscored the need to resurrect football in the region which produced former footballers like goalkeeper Robert Mensah
