Carpenter remanded for possessing four bags of suspected leaves
The Akim Swedru Circuit Court presided over by Mr Yaw Atta Sampong has remanded in prison custody Mark Mensah, a carpenter, for possessing four bags of suspected leaves believed to be Indian hemp.
Mensah, whose plea was not taken, would reappear on May 6, this year.
Presenting the facts of the case to the court, Police Inspector Kwaku Appiah said Mensah lives at Akim Abenase.
He said on March 14, 2013 the Police received a tip-off that some people were dealing in drugs at Akim Abenase and they proceeded to the place.
Inspector Appiah said when a search was conducted in Mensah’s shop some four sacks filled with the suspected leaves were found.
