SDA inaugurates Adventist Health Association

stethoscopePastor Dr Chris Annan-Nunoo, President of the South Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, has urged members of the mission to be medical missionaries wherever they find themselves.

In a statement issued in Accra on Monday and copied to the Ghana News Agency, he said the time has come for each member to preach the health preventive message from the biblical perspective and live by it.

The President was speaking at the inauguration of the Adventist Health Association (AHA) organised by the Health Ministries Department of the church.

The statement outlined that nutrition, exercise, water, sunshine, temperance, air, rest and trust in God as the basic need to promote the new start of the health preventive method.

Pastor Annan-Nunoo described as false the belief that genuine Christians never fall sick.

“As much as we are not living according to the biblical principle of healthy living our National Health Insurance Scheme will continue to suffer since our diseases today seem to be above the scheme,” he said.

The President inducted a nine-member Executive Committee made up of Elder Anane Karikari, President, Pastor Ambrose Waahu, Health Ministry Director, of AHA into office for a four- year term.

Pastor Nunoo called on the national agencies to fight for common health issues in the country to facilitate development.

The South Ghana Conference of the church comprise Adventist churches in the Central, Greater Accra, and the Volta Regions.
