Ghana’s Right to Dream beats Man City
The under-15 side of Ghana’s Right to Dream rounded up their UK tour with a 2-1 victory over Manchester City U-15’s at the Carrington Training Complex in Manchester.
Frank Arhin and Mohammed Zakyi scored each side of City’s goal to secure RtD’s third victory in three matches, in the history of the two clubs.
Against the run of play, Frank Arhin picked up the ball and surged inside the area where he twisted and turned to create space for a calm left-footed finish.
In the second half, RtD were still toiling to find any form. Slack marking allowed City to equalise from a corner.
As the Manchester drizzle dissipated, and the sun came out, things clicked into place and RtD began to show themselves.
After a series of slick moves, typical of their passing style, the chances began to come thick and fast with numerous opportunities missed.
The breakthrough came when Evans Mensah picked up the ball and drove a shot at goal.
The ball skipped up off the wet surface and the keeper palmed it into the path of Mohammed Zakyi who slotted home to give RtD the victory.
It will be recalled that RtD U-18’s beat Manchester City 4-2 before beating the City Reserve side 1-0 in a follow up game in Manchester last year.
Meanwhile, the RtD U-15’s will be hoping to qualify for the Nike Premier Cup World Finals in Manchester when they take part in the African Finals of the tournament in Holland next week.
