Ghana Police arrests land guards and crime suspects
The Ashaiman Police Divisional Command, on Saturday arrested 16 persons in connection with various offences such as possession of narcotic drugs and offensive weapons.
Land guards and people suspected to be engaged in robbery activities were among those arrested during a swoop at Bediako; near Michel Camp, Oyibi, Dodowa, Ayikuma and Ashaiman.
Chief Superintendent David Eklu, Divisional Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency at Ashaiman that the items seized included a quantity of compressed substances suspected to be Indian hemp, cutlasses, scissors, cutters and three jungle motorbikes.
The police also seized 30 mobile phones and a desk top computer believed to be stolen items in the six-hour operations led by Chief Superintendent Eklu.
He said all the suspects are in police custody and would be on an identification parade on Tuesday, May 21 to enable the robbery victims to assist in investigations.
