Samsung customers want better protection against fake products

SamsungSamsung Loyalty Promotion “Di Bi Na Sa Di Biom”, which aims at ensuring that consumers buy genuine Samsung products, has entered its 12- week, with a number of customers being rewarded.

However a cross section of consumers of Samsung products has made an appeal to dealers and marketers of the products to institute measures to protect them against fake ones.

They said Samsung products which are universally tried-and-tested guarantees unrival quality of durability and reliability; however, there are so many fake ones on the market.

Mr Oppong Awuah, a resident at Osu in Accra, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that “there are so many fake Samsung products on the market, it is difficult to differentiate them from the original one”.

He said authorities concern must step in to arrest the situation so that customers could continue to enjoy the good quality of the original products.

Mrs Caroline Asampana, also a resident at Osu, said she has been using Samsung products such as television set, computers and phones for the past six years.

She observed that the phenomenon of counterfeit Samsung products flooding the Ghanaian market needs serious attention.

“We are in the middle income bracket, so we deserve to enjoy quality products… authorities of Samsung wake up to protect the product for our safety.”

Mr Tetteh Akunnor, Products Manager of Samsung Ghana said the promo was designed to reward valued customers; but the company equally has a core responsibility of protecting customers from counterfeit products.

He said: “Upon registration of the phone on e-warranty platform, the customer would be automatically entered into a draw and stands a chance to win weekly and monthly prizes.”

Winners for the week took home Samsung LED TV sets, microwaves, airtime from Airtel, Samsung phones, branded wears and other souvenirs.
