AfDB ends 2013 Annual Meetings, Rwanda to be next host
The African Development Bank Group today May 31, 2013 ended its 48th Annual Meetings in Marrakech, Morocco.
Rwanda will host the 2014 edition of the Meetings, it was announced. The event will be held in Kagali May 19 to 23, 2014.
Rwandan Finance Minister, Mr Claver Gatete promised the AfDB, country and non-country members as well as the media that his country will not disappoint in the hosting of the Meetings. Mr Gatete also took over as the President of AfDB’s Board of Governors from the Moroccan Finance Minister Mr Nizar Baraka.
Meanwhile, Ivory Coast and Zambia will the 2015 and 2016 editions respectively.
The AfDB President, Dr Kaberuka at the closing ceremony announced that the Bank will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan in November 2014.
The Bank expressed its appreciation to Morocco in particular, and the city of Marrakech for hosting this year’s Meetings.
