NHIA to save $3,000 monthly as rent

NHISThe National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) is to save $3,000 a month as rent on its Volta Regional head office in Ho following the completion of its own office building.

The Authority now has its own one-storey office complex built at an estimated cost of GHȼ690,000.

Mr Sam Buabasah, Deputy Director of Procurement and Projects, NHIA, told the Ghana News Agency during the inauguration of the new office complex last Friday.

Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, Volta Regional Minister performed the inauguration of the building on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.

He said the NHIA would no longer rent halls for conferences and other activities.

Mr Buabasah said the Authority had since 2009 built its own national headquarters and ten regional offices and on course to build 150 district offices throughout the country.

Mr Winfred Agboyibor, Director of Corporate Affairs of the NHIA, said the Authority had undergone significant re-engineering in every facet of its operation since its establishment in 2003.

Mr Agboyibor, who was speaking on behalf of the Chief Executive of the NHIA, urged management and staff of the Authority in the region to let the new environment provided by the new office, make clients and service providers feel better with their services.

Togbe Kwaku Ayim, Chief of Ziavi, who chaired the occasion, urged staff of the Authority to maintain the new building in order to preserve its beauty always.

WHEREVER YOU TRAVEL GLOBALLY ESPECIALLY IN CANADA AND MEXICO SHARING THE SAME BORDER WITH THE US, EVERYTHING YOU BUY IS CHARGE IN THEIR OWN CURRENCY UNLESS YOU DON’T HAVE SUCH CURRENCY ON YOU SO WHY GOVERNMENT PAYING IN US DOLLARS FOR LOCAL RENTAL.
