President Mahama nominates MMDCEs

President John Dramani Mahama, on Wednesday nominated 13 persons for appointment as Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives in Ashanti and Central Regions.

This is in accordance with Section 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(10 of the Local Government Act 1993, Act 462.

A statement issued by Mr Akwasi Oppong-Fosu, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development said the nominees from the Ashanti Region are: Alhaji Latif Majdoud – Adansi North, Ebenezer K. Akuoku-Frimpong – Sekyere Central, Kwame Adarkwah – Bosome Freho, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi – Obuasi and Paul Kingsley Arweh Averu – Asante Akim North.

Others are Donkor Fuseini – Sekyere Afram Plains, Alhaji Nuhu Hamidan – Asokore Mampong and Alhaji Braimah Boyong – Asante Akim Central.

It said nominees from the Central Region include: Alex D. Antwi Bosiako – Assin North, Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah –Gomoa West, Nii Ephraim – Efutu Municipal, Francis Kofi Korankye Sakyi – Twifo/Heman/Lower Denkyira and Ibrahim Kwaku Dawson – Ekumfi.
