USAID launches civil society working group
Rajiv Shah, Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced the formation of a civil society working group.
The group will work to develop the Feed the Future Civil Society Action Plan.
He said this during his opening remarks at the Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid (ACVFA) public meeting, a statement has said.
According to the statement, Feed the Future Civil Society Action Plan will provide a series of concrete actions to enhance collaboration between the US government and civil society organizations as they work together to reduce hunger and undernutrition. This process follows former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton’s event during last year’s United Nations General Assembly.
Feed the Future, led by USAID, is the US government’s global hunger and food security initiative.
