President Mahama ends London trip
President John Dramani Mahama on Monday ended his three-day invitational visit to London in the United Kingdom where he participated in this year’s G8 Summit.
The Summit, held at the Lancaster House, was on the theme: “Trade, Tax and Transparency”.
Aside the Summit, President Mahama held closed-door discussions with Prime Minister Cameron on strengthening bilateral and diplomatic relations at the Number 10 Downing Street in London.
President Mahama also met the African Diplomatic Corps, Secretary General of Commonwealth and paid short courtesy calls on the British Foreign Secretary, William Jefferson Hague and the Mayor of London.
He also held discussions with development partners such as the Department for International Development (DFID) and received business communities in his London-based Churchill Hotel, where “fruitful discussions” were held.
President Mahama also delivered a lecture on “Ghana’s Democratic Gains and Challenges on the African Continent” at the Chatham House before meeting the Ghanaian community at the Ghana High Commission in London.
The President and his delegation are expected back home on Monday evening.
