Two American fire experts on Monday morning arrived in Kumasi to commence investigations into the fire that gutted parts of the Kumasi central market on the dawn of Sunday.
The experts led by the Chief Fire Officer, Brigadier-General John Bosco, were joined by other security chiefs in the region at the scene of the fire to begin the investigations.
Brigadier-General John Bosco said the task of the team was to ascertain the possible cause of the fire outbreak, which destroyed several items worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
The fire outbreak, which was said to have started at about 0200 hours on Sunday, destroyed about thirty shops at the “Folks Line”.
It took fire fighters and rescue workers several hours to bring the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire outbreak, which is the second in the market in six months, is yet to be unraveled.
