Scrap dealer caught with cannabis remanded
A scrap dealer caught with dried leaves suspected to be cannabis has been ordered by a Kumasi Circuit Court to be held in prison custody.
The plea of Marfus Salia, alias “Karto” was not taken and he would reappear on July 5.
Police Inspector Kwabena Oduro-Boateng told the court presided over by Mr William Boampong that the accused was arrested by the police on June 6 at the Dagomba-Line, Kumasi, following a tip off.
He said 40 wraps of the substance were found on him during a search.
They also recovered a large quantity of the dried leaves, concealed in a black polythene bag from his room.
Sample of the dried leaves has been sent to the Forensic Laboratory in Accra for tests and the results are yet to arrive.
