Ministry calls for calm over petition to dismiss CEO of Tamale Teaching Hospital
The Ministry of Health has called for calm over a petition from the Tamale Concerned Citizens Association for the dismissal of Dr Ken Sagoe, Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
A statement issued by Tony Goodman, Public Relations Officer at the Ministry and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra assured the association, which is calling for the dissolution of the hospital’s Governing Board that members would be reconstituted.
It said Ms Sherry Ayittey, Minister for Health, has written to National Security to investigate the allegations of stealing of the hospital’s equipment for the culprits to be brought to book.
The statement said the Ministry is concerned about stealing at the facility.
“We therefore call on the Concerned Citizens Association to restrain itself from embarking on demonstration that has the potential to undermine peace and security in the Tamale Metropolitan Area.”
It said if the demonstration is not controlled it is likely to disrupt the smooth operations of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
