New ICT centre opens in Winneba
Mr Samuel Sarpong, Central Regional Minster, has inaugurated a building that would serve as Information Communication Technology Centre (ICT) for Don Bosco Catholic Cluster of Schools in Winneba.
The GH¢97,000.00 project, which was executed by the Effutu Municipal Assembly, was financed by the Central Regional Development Commission (CEDECOM).
Mr Sarpong, who is also Chairman of CEDECOM, inaugurated the facility as part of a day’s tour of the Effutu Municipality.
He was accompanied by Mrs Queenstar Pokuah Sawyer, the Deputy Central Regional Minister and regional heads of departments.
Mr Sarpong advised the youth against the use of the facility for internet fraud, popularly called SAKAWA.
The Regional Minister later inaugurated the Presbyterian Primary School building valued at 279,654.83 Ghana Cedis and 192,287.63 Ghana Cedi-Municipal Primary School block at Ntakofom, which were financed by the Ghana Education Trust Fund, and inspected CHIPS compound project at Effutu Ansaful.
Nii Ephraim, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, commended CEDECOM for financing the ICT building project.
Mrs Hilda Eghan, Effutu Municipal Director of Education, called for immediate provision of computers and installation of other ICT equipment in the building for the benefit of students.
