AOMC inducts new oil companies
The Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMCs) have inducted eight oil companies into their fold.
This brings the number of AOMCs to 51.
The new members are: Crown Petroleum Ghana Limited, EV Oil Company Limited, Joekona Company Limited, Jusbro Petroleum Company Limited, Lucky Oil Company Limited, Naagamni Oil Company Limited, Quantum Petroleum Limited and West African Petroleum Company Limited.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday, Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Duah, AOMC Industrial Coordinator said membership is based on critical scrutiny of a company’s licensed certificate and a brief profile of the management team.
“We also check the location of head office, contact address and numbers, location of branded stations, the last three months lifting’s from Tema oil Refinery or otherwise and tax clearance certificate of the company,” Mr Agyeman-Duah said.
He said the induction of the new members’ forms part of activities to mark the 10th anniversary of the formation of AOMCs.
He said as part of the anniversary Mr Isaac Okyeremah Kofi Barnor and Mr Kwame Antwi Agyei past Industrial Coordinators were awarded AOMCs Meritorious certificate for their contribution to the development of the association.
The association started on April 15, 2003 as the Association of Oil Marketing Companies of Ghana at Kudjawu House- D40 Derby Avenue near Children’s hospital.
The major goal of the AOMCs is to influence national policy-making and legislation, provide technical advice and input towards government initiatives in the development of the sector.
It also seeks to encourage and foster the development of a congenial environment for a healthy and lawful competition among members and other players in the petroleum industry.
