Africa needs leaders to challenge the status quo – Apostle Amoani

AmoaniApostle Dr Stephen Kwame Ntow Amoani, Chairman of Christ Apostolic Church International, on Friday said Africa needed leaders who were willing to challenge the status quo and not those who would manage it.

He said: “I believe that the time for positive transformation in the church and the nation is now, and the foundation on which this change will occur is through leadership.”

Apostle Dr Amoani made the observation in Accra at the end of a five-day transformational leadership seminar organized by the church for its leadership and pastors within the Greater Accra Region.

“It is time for the church and for that matter the body of Christ to take up the destiny of the nation, the continent and the world into our hands and bring the transformation that we are all looking for.

“God is not looking for an army or a whole nation to bring that transformation, he is looking for just one person, and that person could be you,” the Apostle said.

He said: “I am delighted that Christ Apostolic Church is partnering the International Leadership Foundation in fulfilling this objective.

“It is on this note that I make this clarion call on the government and all private entities as well as churches to join hands with the International Leadership Foundation to raise God fearing leaders for Ghana, Africa and the World.

“This is the only hope for fighting the canker of corruption and making the world a better place to live.”

Apostle Amoani said it was time for the church and the state to partner for the development of the country.

He said the world, and for that matter the church, is looking for servant leaders, steward leaders and shepherd leaders who were not only God fearing but has character.

Apostle Amoani challenged men of God to make a commitment to themselves that they would be instruments of change.

He urged them to commit themselves to personal integrity and to be creative leaders; adding: “God in his wisdom brought this seminar to us to prepare our minds for next year, as our theme for the year 2014 will be “Empowerment for Transformation”.

“My strong conviction is that this seminar will not only propel the Christ Apostolic Church International but also Pentecostalism to higher heights in the coming years,” he said.

The objectives of the seminar include understanding transforming leadership paradigm and equipping leaders as effective coaches to lead in transformation.
