Korle-Bu Hospital closes down surgical theatre for renovation
Authorities of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on Wednesday announced that its main surgical theatre would be closed down for renovation works.
A statement signed by Mustapha Salifu, the Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said renovation works on the theatre will start immediately and is expected to be completed by the end of October.
It said the project, which formed part of on-going major retooling of the Hospital, was being funded by Government.
The statement said due to the arrangement, only urgent and emergency surgical cases would be attended to at alternative theatres in the hospital.
It asked patients, who have been previously given appointments for surgery, to bear with their doctors when they are rescheduled and apologised for any inconvenience the new development might cause.
