Police arrests unemployed with 56 wraps of cannabis
The police in a crackdown on drug dealers at Konongo had arrested a 28 year-old unemployed with 56 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis.
Kwadwo Akowuah was nabbed during a swoop on a notorious drugs den called “Ward Six” on July 5.
He was on Thursday put before the Juaso Circuit Court presided over by Mr. Alex Obeng Asante and remanded into prison custody.
His plea was not taken and he would be brought back on July 25.
Police Detective Inspector Bismark Peasah told the court that the dried leaves were found on Akowuah during a special operation mounted by the police to rein in hard drugs users and peddlers in the Konongo Municipality.
He denied ownership of the substance in his caution statement and samples had been sent for test at the Forensic Laboratory in Accra.
