Wa DCE takes over five projects

Housing_PopulationMr Adamu Dasaana, Wa West District Chief Executive, has taken over five development projects, made up of three school facilities and two residential buildings.

The school projects comprising day care centres and a primary school valued at GH¢452,000 are located at Tomayiri/Konglomo, Bulituo and Maase communities.

The two residential facilities comprising a semi-detached bungalow and a district police commander’s bungalow costing GH¢196,000 are also situated at Wichiau.

The Wichiau District Assembly funded the projects with its share of the District Assembly Common Fund and the District Development Fund, to help make educational facilities accessible to rural children who hitherto had to walk long distances to attend school in other communities.

The residential facilities are meant to help workers to stay at post and work while the police would take charge of the security situation in the communities.

Addressing community members Mr Dasaana appealed to them to enrol their children in the schools.

He advised them to avoid the practice of exploiting the labour of their sons on   their farms while forcing their daughters into marriage.

They should also discourage school children from dropping out of school and migrating to the cities to engage in illegal mining, serving as porters and being lured to patronise social vices to the detriment of their education.
