Mr Sarfo Buabeng, Counsel for Alfred Agbesi Woyome, at the Accra Fast Track High Court, tendered in evidence a memo written by Madam Ama Gaisie, the Solicitor General, describing the case against Woyome as weak.

The said memo, according the Counsel, was addressed to the former Attorney-General (AG) Mr Martin Amidu.

In his further evidence, Mr Ahmed Suleiman, Acting Chief Director of the Ministry, said the AG confirmed the said memo and agreed that Mr Amidu also booked the memo.

The Counsel for the accused told the Court that the A-G received an opinion from the local organising committee and made reference to the role of Woyome as a financial engineer.

Mr Buabeng also presented to the court other documents that indicated that Mr John Martey-Newman, the former Chief of Staff, was aware of all correspondence concerning the case.

“Every step that the A-G took, the former chief was notified,” he said.

The case is adjourned to October 16.
