MTN Group reshuffles, names new Ghana CEO as Ikpoki heads Nigeria unit

The MTN Group has named Serame Taukobong, a South African, as the new CEO of its Ghana unit.

Mr Taukobong, the Chief Marketing Officer of MTN SA, replaces Michael Ikpoki who will now become the new CEO of MTN Nigeria, the mobile operator announced July 24, 2013.

Mr Taukobong was a former Chief Operations Officer of MTN Uganda.

Mr Ikpoki became CEO of MTN Ghana in 2011, replacing Brett Goschen who is now the new Chief Finance Officer of the MTN Group. Mr Ikpoki becomes the first indigenous CEO of MTN Nigeria.

According to the mobile operator, all the new appointments take immediate effect.
