Ghana suffers 6.4% fall in remittances in 2013 first-half
Remittances to Ghana fell by 6.4% during the first-half of 2013, according to the Bank of Ghana.
The decline was on a year-on-year basis as transfers were received through the country’s banking system.
“Private inward transfers received through the banking system from January to June 2013, declined by 6.4% on a year-on-year basis to $8.3 billion,” says the Bank.
Of the total transfers, $928.4 million were accrued to individuals during the half-year compared with $908.7 million in the same period of 2012, the Bank added.
